Since ancient times, Carmelites have looked to Our Lady as their mother and perfect model of prayer who helps and teaches her children to pray as she did. What better way to prepare to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ than by spending these days of Advent with His Blessed Mother? Mary is the one who lived that first Advent waiting in joyful hope for the coming of her Savior Jesus Christ. By her prayers and maternal sway over our hearts, she will help us to live Advent as she did and experience the loving presence of Jesus Christ in our hearts.
Conferences will cover:
How prayer is understood in the Carmelite tradition
The role of Our Blessed Mother in our life of prayer
How we can deepen our own prayer lives
Experience various ways of praying as modeled by Our Lady and the Carmelite Saints
God's gift of healing grace that is bestowed upon us and others through prayer
This retreat will take place in an atmosphere of silence to allow everyone the freedom to have a personal heart to heart dialogue with the Lord and experience His Love anew.
Registration closes on December 6.
Our new check in time is 4-6p on Friday. The retreat concludes at 12p on Sunday. See the retreat schedule for full details. Please contact the office with any questions.
